The home is filled with history and character as Bliss cottage was an addition to the big house for the men to enjoy their after- dinner whiskey and smoke. It has been lovingly restored and boasts a four poster bedroom that is designed to give you deep peace and restoration, far from the noise, far from the hurry…
When you walk through the doors of this cottage, you will be welcomed… not just as a guest… but as a part of this land's living story. Knock Grena is a place where the soul may feel it has come home. Bliss Cottage holds its silence like a gift. This is an historic Highland Hideaway filled with character and quiet power.
There is a well equipped kitchen, a large open parlor, dinning table, a library snug room, a four poster bedroom … The Highlander…and a bathroom that is serene and offers everything you need… with a chance to really feel the history in these walls that were built in 1750. The space invites you to disconnect from your screens and be part of the old unhurried ways.
The Writer’s Den
The writer’s den is an historic Highland Hideaway, once the original kitchen of the 18th century main house. It has been lovingly transformed into a private retreat, full of character and handcrafted details. Knock Grena or Cnoc Gréine in Gaelic meaning “hill of the sun“ has been a place of light and quiet power for centuries. Its thick stone walls hold the warmth from the hearth, but also the rich stories from long ago. It has now been transformed into a space for inspiration, creative flow, and peaceful rest.
There is a stillness and a solitude in this place. It is perfect for someone who is seeking an escape from the noise so they may spark an idea for their next novel, finish their current novel… or just need a rest from the madness of the world. This is a place where a couple will find a quiet sanctuary designed to stir the senses and soothe the soul.
When you step through the old stone threshold, you are walking into a world of quiet wonder. The main room with the original fireplace and advanced technology wood-burning stove is packed with character in each and every nook. The walls hold books, paintings, and a dartboard… but they are also filled with a rich history that one feels the minute you enter the room. This is a home that does not have any need for a TV…. instead, it is a space that invites you to disconnect from screens… to just sit and listen to the crackle of the fire or the rhythm of your own thoughts, and have simple meals, play the piano, share your stories and put something of yourself into the property so that you become a part of it’s history as well.
